Photos property of Dean Andrus and @ copyrighted with special permission given to the Cass County Genweb to use them on site.
To find out about purchasing a CD, which has approximately 339 photos, not all of the photos are here on site, contact Mr. Dean Andrus at - hazard139@aol.comDean Andrus, son of Charles Andrus who, with his Uncle George Andrus and Grandfather, Henry Andrus owned and operated the Edwardsburg Argus for many years. Dean grew up in Edwardsburg and as kid found a box of 350 glass plate negatives of photos taken of the Edwardsburg area from 1900 to 1920 or so by George. The story of my finding them and finally scanning them and producing a CD of the images is attached in the introduction that Dean wrote to go along with the CD which he donated to the Edwardsburg Library, the Edwardsburg Area Historical Museum and to this web site (most recently) Dean had recently been in touch with a cousin, Ben Kinsey, who had submitted a number of items for our inclusion on this GenWeb site and this has led Dean to consider submitting the photos for use on the site to make them more widely available to the public and hopefully get some help in identifying some of the people and places depicted.
This collage includes photos of churches, streets, houses, barns, schools, businesses, cottages, lake, auto livery, horse and buggy, funeral home, hearse, etc. and a lot of people. Those of Dean's family have been identified along with a few of the others and the Museum has identified a few more. They take walks around town yearly to try and identify other homes in the photos.
Can you help identify anyone or place in the collage of photos below? Some have been identified and others are a mystery.
