| Reames - Ezra & Hannah Tharp Reames - EZRA REAMES was born Sept. 26, 1831, the son of WILLIAM PETER REAMES and HANNAH THARP. He was the third child born of eight children, but the first in Michigan (LaGrange). Brother William and sister Malissa were both born in Logan County, Ohio. His father was one of ten children born to William REAMES of Blackwater, Sussex, Virginia and Naomi VAUGHN of Northampton, North Carolina. Ezra's paternal grandfather and grandmother were one of the first pioneers in Logan County, Ohio. His uncle, Moses REAMS, was an early pioneer in CASS County, Michigan. Ezra's other brothers and sisters were: Elijah (b.1832), Vincent (b. 1832), Rebecca (b.1836), Abner Tharp (b.1837), and Hannah Anna (b.1839) - all born in Cass County, Michigan. His mother was the daughter of Abner Tharp of Virginia and Sarah Bousman of Ohio, both of whom were pioneers in CASS County. | September 2012 |
