Anamickee Alpena Co., Michigan Created April 1, 1840, changed to Alpena County on March 8, 1843.
Bleeker Menominee Co., Michigan Set off in 1861. Changed to Menominee County in 1863.
Brown Brown Co., Wisconsin Formed in 1818 from unorganized territory when Michigan Territory was expanded to include area west of Lake Michigan upon formation of the state of Illinois.  Transferred to Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and continues as Brown County, Wisconsin.
Cheonoquet Montmorency Co., Michigan Created April 1, 1840, changed to Montmorency COunty on March 8, 1843.
Crawford Crawford Co., Wisconsin Formed in 1818 from unorganized territory when Michigan Territory was expanded to include area west of Lake Michigan upon formation of the state of Illinois. ransferred to Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and continues as Crawford County, Wisconsin. ( This is also a different Crawford County, Michigan.)
DesMoines DesMoines Co., Iowa Formed in 1834 from unorganized territory.  Transferred to Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and continues as DesMoines County, Iowa.
Dubuque Dubuque Co., Iowa Formed in 1834 from unorganized territory.  Transferred to Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and continues as Dubuque County, Iowa.
Iowa Iowa Co., Wisconsin Formed in 1830 from part of Crawford County.  Transferred to Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and continues as Iowa County, Wisconsin.
Isle Royale Keweenaw Co., Michigan Isle Royale County was formed in 1875 from part of Keweenaw County. Returned to Keweenaw County in 1897.
Kanotin Iosco Co., Michigan Created April 1, 1840.  Changed to Iosco County on March 8, 1843.
Kautawaubet Wexford Co., Michigan Created April 1, 1840.  Changed to Wexford County on March 8, 1843.
Kayakee Clare Co., Michigan Created April 1, 1840.  Changed to Clare County on March 8, 1843.

Formed in 1840 from part of Mackinac County. Renamed Charlevoix County in 1843. Annexed to Emmet County in 1853. Reformed as Charlevoix County from Emmet County in 1869.
Manitou Charlevoix Co. Michigan &
Leelanau Co., Michigan
Formed in 1855 from parts of Emmet County and Leelanau COunty.  County government was disbanded in 1861 and attached for administrative purposes to Mackinac County. In 1865, it was attached to Leelanau and reattached to Mackinac in 1869. The county was abolished in 1895 and absorbed by Charlevoix County and Leelanau County.
