NOTES:  Samuel CARNEY was the first person to be buried inthe Gilson or West Climax Cemetery. Mary KEYES CARNEY and her second husbandPeter CROWHURST lived several years at Geneseo Twp., Tama Co., IA. By 1880they were living at Kalamo, Eaton Co., MI. Daughter Mary CARNEY and husbandspent their married life in the Carmel Twp. area of Charlotte, Eaton Co.,MI. Son Lyman CARNEY died in action during the Civil War. Before that heand his family were living at Silver Creek, Cass Co., MI. Daughter MelvinaCARNEY was said to have married someone by the surname of CHURCH, but Ihave not yet verified this. Lucinda CARNEY went to Iowa with her motherand stepfather. She and her husband were married there, and they spenttheir married life in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska.
