Site Policies

Submitters and Visitors

  1. All family group sheets submitted are the property of the person who submitted them.  All copyright is held by the submitter.
  2. If a submitter asks to have a sheet removed we will delete the copy we have on the MIGenWeb Family Group Sheet Collection site.  If any sheets by a submitter exist elsewhere such as a county site, or the USFGS project please contact that web page administrator for that site.  We can not control other web sites.

County Coordinators or Web Page Administrators for MIGenWeb

  1. Since we are all in the same project, we want to share the family group sheets with any county site that would like to administer their county.  Just e-mail me to get this arranged.  Sheets are being reconfigured so that they can automatically be sent to you already formatted in html.  County Site Example: Montcalm Co. MIGenWeb - Kevin uses his own form, any we get we forward a copy of it to him from our forms.  

  2. If a County Coordinator decides to take care of their county on the county site, we will link to your index pages only during the time you have them on the county site.  

  3. If a County Coordinator already has a collection of family groups sheets on the county site that were not submitted through this site, please send us a link so that we may include it on the proper county index page on this site.  Let visitors have links to all sources please.  

  4. If a person is submitting a family group sheet for a county through this site we will retain a copy in the event that the County Coordinator can no longer take care of the sheets on their county site, because they have left that county project, or it has become too burdensome, etc.

  5. If you, as a County Coordinator no longer takes care of your county please, let us know. 

  6. The family group sheets being submitted through this site can not be reproduced and/or used on another project site without the permission of the submitter.  Remember they are the owners of the data, please.

Volunteers Of This Site

  1. If you would like to help by proofing and uploading sheets to the proper county directory on the site let me know.  What you would need is a web page editor such as Front Page, Dream Weaver, or one of the many others that are available.  Also needed is an FTP program to upload the files if your web page editor does not come with one.
