I took over the site on 16 Nov 2019. It will probably be in a perpetual state of construction, which is good news and bad news. I greatly value my conversations and connections with genealogists, from amateur to professional. Please send me an email if you see any mistakes or omissions, or have any comments, whether on style or substance.

The site that I inherited had a variety of valuable data. However, it hadn't been updated in several years, and many of the links were broken. I have put in links to the old stuff, and many new links to other data, as well as some newly transcribed data. Let me know if there is something you can't find.

If you have any old newspapers, phone books, family stories, or any documents or photos you think might be of interest here, please contact me. One of the main goals of MIGenWeb is to transcribe and make available information of value to genealogists, for free!

The USGenWeb was established in April, 1996, and MIGenWeb in July 1996. The USGenWeb Project is supported by many volunteers all across the country. The project is organized by states, and the counties within each state. Each county has a coordinator responsible for maintaining a site of resources which are available for that county. You can also find files of genealogy records organized by state and county. Volunteers are needed in all phases of the project including creating and maintaining home pages, hosting mailing lists, organizing files submitted by volunteers, and transcribing public records for inclusion in the archives. See the Disclaimer Page for more information about MIGenWeb. The MIGenWeb acting State Coordinator is Colleen Pustola, and the Assistant State Coordinator is Wayne Summers.
