Third Christian Reformed Church
Zeeland, Michigan

The first Dutch church in Zeeland to conduct services only in English was Third Christian Reformed Church. In 1913 a canvass of the Christian Reformed churches produced 36 families that were in favor of an English church. Permission from Classis Zeeland was not immediately given but they persisted and on 11 February 1914 permission was granted.

The church was organized 12 March 1914 with 35 families and 12 individuals present.

A building on Centennial Street owned by Second Reformed Church was purchased and was used by the church for services until 1923. Lots were purchased at the corner of State Street and Central Avenue in 1916 and a new church building was completed on 23 May 1923.

Early pastors were Leonard Trap (1914-1917); Douwe R. Drukker (1918-1926); William Hendreksen (1927-1931).
