NEW RULES
REGARDING VITAL RECORDS - 2008
Birth, Marriage and Death
indexes are available to look at.
Birth records are open 110 years ago, if you can prove direct
line, or can get a court order. If you find the name you want in the
index, the clerk will check the record for you. You will need to have
proof that you are a direct line to the person. You will need your
birth certificate, your parents birth certificate, and if the lineage goes
back that far, your grandparent's birth certificate. It would also
help if you have the death certificate of the person for whom you are
looking.
Marriage and Death records are available to look at over 75 years ago.
For newer ones, the clerk will need to read you the information from the
record.
