Holland Interurban

Holland Interurban – 1911

The Holland Interurban has added five box cars and four flat cars to its freight equipment, made necessary by the increase in traffic. The road is handling large quantities of wheat from the Jamestown district, celery from the Jamestown, Zeeland and Vriesland districts and sugar beets for the sugar factor at Holland.

The good roads movement in Ottawa county has created a great demand for gravel and the company is making large shipments from its pits at the Lake Shore crossing. The interurban expects to handle one hundred or more cars of celery this season and this will be only a small part of the total shipments, the bulk of the crop going out by express or fast freight.
