28 March 1904 - Grand Haven Daily Tribune, p. 4

Prof. G. E. Boer died very suddenly in Grand Rapids Saturday afternoon. He left home to take the train for Holland where he was to have preached yesterday. Owing to the flooded condition of Grand Rapids, the train did not leave so he retraced his steps homeward. Upon arrival he found the doors locked; his wife and daughters having left in the meantime. He stepped into the neighbor’s house, sat down a moment, when he fell from the chair and expired. The funeral will be held on Tuesday from the home, 124 LeGrave St., and at two o’clock from Commerce St. Christian Reformed church. The Prof. was favorably known in this city, having occupied the pulpits of both the first and Second Christian Reformed churches several times.
