Jacob Brillhart

Jacob Brillhart was born in Pennsylvania, February 25, 1825, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Lillie, in Ravenna Township, June 28, 1909, aged 81 years, 4 months and three days.

Mr. Brillhart moved with his parents to Ohio when but a small boy. He was married to Rosan Sorrick , March 15, 1852; to this union were born seven children, four sons and three daughters. He came to Michigan in 1855. His wife died in 1870. When the call came to defend his country, he counted he entered the ranks of Company A, 19th Regiment and endured the hardships of soldier life. He was a respected member of Coopersville G. A. R.

He leaves to mourn his loss two sons, Delsene of Grand Rapids, and John, of Walkerville, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Little, with whom he was living, five grand children and a large circle of friends. The funeral was held Thursday at Coopersville

M. E. Church, Rev. Steffe officiating, the members of the G. A. R. attending in a body. He was laid to rest in the Coopersville Cemetery.
