Obituary Card of Dorie Peel Allen Repository; Herrick Library, Holland, Michigan Published July 5, 1990 SAUGATUCK-Dorie Allen, 68 of Fennville, died Wednesday, July 4, following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Saugatuck/Douglas area, graduating from Saugatuck High School in 1941. She married Raymond Allen, and was involved in Allen’s Radio and TV business in Holland. She and her husband later owned and operated several businesses in the Saugatuck area. She owned and operated the Elbow Room in Saugatuck continuing in the restaurant business the remainder of her life. Her husband, Ray, preceded her in death in 1976. Survivors include her children, Dennis and Linda Allen of Fennville, Bob and Judy Allen of Holland, and Blair and Cary Allen of Spring Lake; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Helen Allen of Holland; a brother, Paul Peel of Grand Haven; a sister, Evelyn Thompson of Douglas; several nieces nephews and cousins.
