Walter J. Allen 86, of 632 Central Ave., died Monday evening at Holland Community Hospital following a short illness.

He owned and operated Allen’s Radio and TV for30 years before his retirement and was a member of Holland Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Third Reformed Church.

Surviving are his wife Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Jane) Veersma and Mrs. James (Helen) Essenberg both of Holland; a son, Harold Allen of Holland; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ray (Doris) Allen of Saugatuck; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Norier-Ver Lee-Langeland Chapel with the Rev. John Paarlberg officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral chapel are Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
