During the week a veteran of the late war answered his last roll call- George B. Gillett on the Lake Shore, of the 9th Michigan Infantry.
George B. Gillett enlisted in the 9^th Michigan Infantry, Company G, on February 15, 1865, in Grand Rapids, for 1 year, age 38. He was mustered out on September 15, 1865. He is buried in Lakeside Cemetery.
