Lambert Gryzen Car-Truck Crash Fatal Hudsonville Man, 45, Pinned Under Auto 5 October 1957 Lambert Gryzen, 45, of Hudsonville, RR3, was killed outright Saturday night when he was pinned beneath his auto after it collided with the rear of a dump truck on M-21 near Hudsonville. The truck driver, Gerrit Kooienga, 52, of Zeeland, RR2, was reported in satisfactory condition in St. Mary's hospital here. He suffered head and chest injuries. Thrown From Car Ottawa county sheriff's department said Mr. Gryzen was thrown from the car and the auto toppled over on him, about a mile west of Hudsonville. Mr. Gryzen, who worked as a painter, was returning from a small blueberry farm he operated. Dr. Peter VerKaik of Hudsonville, medical examiner, listed internal injuries as cause of death. A son of Mr. Gryzen, Jack, 18, drowned five year ago. Surviving Mr. Gryzen are his wife, Katheryn; a daughter, Mrs. Arlene Doorn of Grand Rapids; a son, Dale, at home; his father, John Gryzen, and a brother, John, Jr. , both of Hudsonville.
