OBITUARY: Lucy Ireland

Grand Haven resident, Lucy P. Ireland, 91, died April 16, 1993 at a local nursing home.

She was born March 21, 1902 in Ravenna to Eli and Bertha (Dresser) Ames, and married Madison Ireland, who preceded her in death in 1954. Mrs. Ireland was a life-time resident, a member of the Salvation Army and had been employed at the Spring Lake Country Club for 24 years.

She is survived by daughters, Viola McConnell, Robinson township, and Lillian (Joseph) Botbyl, Spring Lake; son, James (Phyllis) Ireland, Spring Lake; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Norma Pavloff, Fruitport, and Ethel Ashley, Manton. She was preceded in death by daughter Rose Taylor and brother Edward Ames.

Funeral arrangements are being made through VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven.

[Funeral Notice]

The funeral service for Mrs. Lucy P. Ireland, age 91, will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday from the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven with Rev. Alvin Hospers officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Lake cemetery. Friends may meet the family 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.
