Kassabian, Nazenie , Coopersville Observer, October 4, 1929

Nazenie Dassabian was born in Armenia, Asia Minor, in 1842. She immigrated to America on the advice and at the request of her son, about twenty years ago, coming directly to Coopersville. She made her home here until the removal of her family to Detroit where she passed away September 27, at the age of 87 years from senility, of the breaking down of the cells of the human body due to old age. She possessed the distinction of being the niece of the treasurer of the once Ottoman Empire. She inherited a deeply religious nature that was evidenced in every incident of her life and no less in her final departure to her heavenly home toward which she looked with ever hopeful anticipation.

She leaves to mourn, an only son, Nushan, a grandson and granddaughter, who throughout these years were her source of comfort and help and mainstay, and who had tenderly cared for her until the end. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon in charge of the pastor, who spoke on "The Father’s House of Many Mansions." James Zuidema sang "Abide With M," and "Face to Face." Interment in the Coopersville Cemetery.
