James Lauver, a veteran of the Civil War, died Saturday at his home, 78 W. Ninth Street, at the age of 75 years. The deceased leaves a widow and stepchildren.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the home, under the auspices of the Masons. The Rev. J. W. Esveld officiated. The members of the local chapter of the G. A. R. attended the funeral in a body.

(James Lauver served in the 1^st Michigan Infantry, Co. E. He is buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery in the Civil War Monument Section.)
