Frances O. Mellema, 1873 - 1944 Mellema, Frances O. Heald, Grand Rapids Herald, September 26, 1944 Frances O. Mellema, widow of John, of 423 Prospect, SE, passed away Sunday evening. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Bigbee; one brother, Thomas B. Heald of Grand Rapids; one granddaughter, Mrs. Myrtle Heslet of Three Rivers, Michigan; one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted in the Berton A, Spring Chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment in Lamont, Michigan. Mrs. Mellema reposes at the chapel. Frances Heald Dudley, age 31 years, daughter of Thomas and Kate Heald, born in Illinois, married John Mellema, age 39 years , on July 16, 1904, in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, according to Kent County marriage records.
