Marinus Mulder

After a long illness with dropsy, Marinus Mulder, one of Holland’s oldest citizens, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter on West Eleventh Street. Mr. Mulder was born in Goes, Netherlands, and came to this country in 1840. In 1865, he enlisted in Co. I, 25th Michigan Infantry, serving until the close of the war, when he returned to Holland and pursued his trade as carpenter. Deceased is survived by six sons and four daughters: Johannes, Rikus, Charles, Marinus, Henry, Leendert, Catherine, Mrs. Henrietta Van Ark, Mrs. Marie Broek, and Mrs. Jane Ver Schure. The funeral will be held from the home on Friday, at two o’clock. Friends will be given a chance to view the remains from nine to eleven o’clock Friday morning.

The death of Mr. Mulder makes the third in the ranks of this local G. A. R. since January.

(Mr. Mulder is buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.)
