Alfred C. Muzzall

Coopersville, July 15, 1935, Alfred C. Muzzall, eighty-nine, one of the four veterans of the Civil War residing in this township, passed away at his home this morning after an illness of two years. His death leaves but three Civil War veterans, John Jackson, Charles Nichols and John Park.

He was born in Lake County, Indiana, October 24, 1846 and enlisted in the Seventeenth Mounted Indiana Infantry and saw service in the last year of the war, being discharged a Macor, Georgia. About 1871, he came to Michigan settling in Polkton Township. For the last thirty years nine years, he has been a resident of this village.

Mr. Muzzall is survived by the widow, a son and a daughter, and four grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at the Van Allsberg funeral Wednesday at two o’clock with internmet in the local cemetery.
