Erasmus D. Park

E. D. Park was born in Preston, Chenango County, New York, May 16, 1812, and departed from this life at the home of his son, J. Melvin Park, near Lamont, Michigan, June 23, 1905, being 93 years, 1 month and 7 days old.

In 1832, he was married to Hannah Crum, of Preston, and in 1838, moved with his wife and three small children to Sullivan, Ashland County, Ohio, going all the way in sleighs.

His first wife, the mother of his children, died in 1854. He afterwards married Mrs. Emma Bronson, who preceded him in 1882, since which time he has made his home with his children.

He, with four sons, served in the War of the Rebellion, one son dying in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a member of the Baptist Church since early manhood and lived a consistent Christian life. Like ripened wheat he was ready for the harvest.

His family consisted of ten children, six sons and four daughters. Four sons and three daughters, with seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, survive him.

He was laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, in Lamont, June 25, 1905, Rev. J. B. Lillie
