William Sherman William E. Sherman was a veteran of the Civil War. He enlisted at Grand Rapids in Co. C, 10th Michigan Cavalry on March 15, 1865, and was discharged on October 5, 1865. He died of consumption on September 17, 1906, in Coopersville, Michigan, age 65-11-16. H was married and a retired farmer. Buried in the lot with William is his mother, Hannah Sherman, wife of Andrew Sherman, who died December 18, 1864, age 60 years, 9 months. William Sherman is possibly related to Charles Nelson, Civil War Veteran, born in Canada, who was living with Adna (Abba) Sherman and his family , according to 1860 Tallmadge, Ottawa County census records. |
