Charles Sickles, War of 1812 veteran Charles Sickles was born June 27, 1794, in New York. He was a War of 1812 veteran and served as private in Yale’s Battalion, NY Militia. He married Adeline Callan, daughter of James Callan and Mary Ogden, according to Adeline’s death certificate.
