Death Takes Ex-Storeman
L. S. VanderLaan, 77, Hudsonville, Dies

(September 19-22, 1953)

Hudsonville - Services for Laberius Seiger VanderLaan, 77, retired Hudsonville businessman, who died unexpectedly Saturday, will be held at 2 Tuesday at First Christian Reformed church here. Burial will be in Georgetown cemetery.

A native of The Netherlands, VanderLaan came to the United States in 1902, living at Grand Rapids until he moved here in 1907. He operated a grocery and dry goods store at Hudsonville until his retirement four years ago.

Survivors include four sons, Sieger, James and Boyd of Grandville, and Charles of Hudsonville; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Benson and Mrs. Ester Smith of Chicago, and Mrs. Theressa Collins of Ada; two brothers, Bartal of Grandville and James of Grand Rapids; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The body is at the VanderLaan funeral home at Hudsonville.
