CAPTION: From the front page of the Onaway News, March 20, 1969: "A picture of what is now Fay's Dress Shoppe taken in early 1940s. At the time it was Lee and Sons Supermarket and before that Gumm's Department. Many in Onaway still remeber T.J. Mannings Drug Store that later became Schwenn Drug Store; and since then it has been torn down. In other Onaway news, Gordon Stiles, longtime Onaway resident and property owner decided to run for Onaway City commissioner...and in other news, Presque Isle County residents were being urged to apply to the Department of Social Services for food assistance under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Stamp Program that was to start in April 1969.
