CAPTION: A large group of Onaway area friends and neighbors proved again that
the close feeling family does not have to follow blood lines.  Someone noticed 
that the woodpile at the Badder residence didn't look nearly large enough to
provide heat in the big house through the winter.  Five pickups, a trailer and 
a dump truck headed for the woods and later returned groaning with their heavy
load.  Sheriff Buck Badder was shot and killed in the line of duty in Metz, 
Oct. 29, 1979.
