CAPTION: Onaway was preparing for an influx of hunters with the Michigan Bow Hunters Association (MBA) returning for the annual bobcat hunt. MBA, for the seventh time, was conducting their annual bobcat hunt on Jan. 8 and 9. The Onaway Chamber of Commerce building was the headquarters where bowmen could register and hunting groups formed to leave for the hunt at 8 a.m. on each day. A buffet supper was planned at the Metropole Hotel dining room. Chamber president Sam Alexander was on hand to welcome hunters. Eighty bowmen registered for the 1965 hunt. during the previous year's hunt, three downstate hunters bagged a nice bobcat during their first-ever hunt.
