As 2014 draws to a close, we chose to use one of our photos taken by the late Raymond Beauregard.
This photo was taken from the intersection of First Street and State Street, looking west.
On the right is one of the Onaway Community Federal Credit Union locations, the Gambles Store, Waldie's Used Cars, Lennox Restaurant, Smity's Sport Shop (aka The Biggest Little Sport Shop in the North), Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and Henry's.
On the left side we see Rosciam's Barber Shop, Betty's Restaurant, Swede's (where you could buy your Cardinal jacket and B.F. Goodrich tennis shoes), George Stone's Realty, Penhale's Pharmacy, the State Theater, Al Yate Shoe Store and Conklin Appliances.
Take a moment and look at the tranquility of this scene. Take another moment and think about the reason for the season; we are celebrating the Christ Child's birthday.
Merry Christmas from the Totem Pole.
