CAPTION: Christopher Michael Pauly , the infant son of Thomas and Debra Pauly, was Onaway's 1979 baby of the year. The first child born at Russell Memorial Hospital in the New Year, he arrived at 8:04 a.m., Jan. 4, Dr. Donald Finch delivered both the new baby and his mother many years ago. Christopher weighed 8 pounds, 1 1/2 ounces and was 21 inches in length. In other Onaway news, Lewis Robinson was named Onaway police chief and Jim Badgero city manager, respectively; by the Onaway City Commission...the Rev. George Stiles assumed pastoral duties at the Ocqueoc Baptist Church after moving to the area with his family. Prior to Stiles' move north, he was pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sterling Heights. In sports, Craig Moser was the player of the week. The sponsor of the ad was Sears Catalog Sales along State Street.
