CAPTION: Erin Nicole Winans was born Jan. 3, 1980 at 8:55 a.m. to earn New Year's baby honors. The daughter of David and Margaret Winans was the first baby of the year at Russell Memorial Hospital of Onaway. She was 8 pounds, 12 3/4 ounces and 21 inches long, and came into the world with a sister, 6, and a brother, 4. In other Onaway news, The Red Cross Bloodmobile made its way to St. Paul Catholic Church community hall, and area residents were once again very generous with their donations. The goal was met and then passed comfortably...Junior high Christmas Olympics winners were first place, Mitch Joppich and Rusty Martin; second place, Mitch Leslie and Mike Beatty; third place, J.D. Price, and a tie between David Dunn and Kevin Horrocks. Onaway head basketball coach Mike Ahrens was proud of the young athletes.
