CAPTION: Russell "BOB" Lee, prominent member of Onaway's oldest mercantile family, announced the expansion and remodeling of Fay's Store in Onaway. Bob said the store would be modernized as well as the addition of new lines designed to provide area shoppers top fashions. "Although our complete renovation program here will extend over several months, we are starting with the addition of the nationally famous line of Thomas McAn Shoes offered for the first time in Onaway. Fay's Stores purchased the adjoining building previously occupied by B & C Market and offered their warehouse lines there. In other Onaway news, the 1966 varsity football schedule was published. The first game was Sept. 16 at Alcona, followed by Cheboygan, Petoskey, Alpena Catholic, Traverse City St. Francis, Rogers City, St. Ignace and Houghton Lake. The Cardinals did not win a game that season.
