CAPTION: Great Lakes Manufacturing Company was moving rapidly toward re-opening of the old Northern Garment factory plant and resumption of the manufacturing of clothing, thereby providing employment eventually for up to 100 persons. Tom Ellenberger, president of Onaway Industrial Development, said that two local ladies were enlisted by the firm to contact former garment workers and arrange interviews. Sewing machines were expected to start arriving. All applications turned into the Onaway News and to Ellenberger were to be given to the company. In other Onaway News, as a tribute to Grace Pregitzer being named Michigan's Mother of the Year, the Onaway Area Chamber of Commerce was placing 150 large placards in business establishments throughout the area to recognize the high honor.
