1979 - Ceremony Honoring Deputy Sheriff Ken Bielas and Sheriff Mike Peltz From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook December 26, 2019

  
CAPTION: In December 1979, Presque Isle County officials and courthouse employees
attended a ceremony honoring deputy sheriff Ken Bielas.  Prosecuting attorney
Larry Farmer (left) presented Bielas with a certificate of valor from the state
of Michigan and county of Presque Isle for his exemplary devotion to duty during
the shooting incident Oct. 29 when sheriff Duane Badder was killed.  Sheriff Mike
Peltz (right) also was given a departmental certificate related to the same incident.
Mrs. Badder was present at the ceremony.
