1978 - Kerry Kubacki Receives Award for Outstanding Performance at the Montmorency County Fair...and...Onaway Sports Boosters Needs New Members From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook September 6, 2018

  
CAPTION: Kerry Kubacki, two-time winner of the Edward N. Cole Memorial Trophy, received the
award at the Montmorency County Fair for his outstanding performance in showing dairy
cattle and horses, Aug. 17, 1978.  The winner of many awards in area 4-H events including
painting, knitting, horsemanship and cattle showing.  Kubacki was a 4-H leader and 
volunteer at the annual 4-H camp. He was admired by both fellow 4-H'ers and leaders.  A
1978 Onaway High School graduate, Kubacki enlisted in the U.S. Navy where his leadership
qualities were to be welcome.  In other Onaway news, Onaway Sports Boosters Club president
Dick McDonald said new members were needed desperately.  A membership drive was underway to 
see if enough people in the area were interested in keeping the club active.
