1966 - Wooden Cross Burned on JP Harry Korobko's Lawn on Halloween and Onaway Cardinals Make All- Conference Team From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook November 10, 2016

  
CAPTION:  Still unexplained was the reason for a wooden cross being burned at the residence of
Justice of the Peace Harry Korobko of Onaway on Halloween.  The judge had maintained his 
residence since being elected to the post.  The cross was made of wood with heavy cloth wrapped
around and held in place by wires.  The cross was soaked in a flammable liquid, learned against a large 
maple tree on the Korobko lawn and set ablaze.  Two girls trick-or-treating reported the fire to
the judge.  "If it was done by pranksters they are the type who will become punks; if it was done
by punks, they are the type who will become public enemies," the judge said.  In other Onaway
News, Chuck Bruder was a first team all-conference linebacker for the Onaway Cardinals.  Alternate
designation was given to Clark Chapman at offensive guard; Jim Fusee at quarterback; and Bill
Rogers at fullback.
