1983 - The State Highway Department Officials Discuss How to Make the Intersection of M-68/U.S.-23 Safer From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook June 15, 2023

  
CAPTION: The M-68/U.S.-23 intersection has been a problem for more than 
four decades.  Back in 1983, officials from the State Highway Department gathered
near the intersection to discuss ways to make it safer.  According to a front-page
article from June 14, 1983, the intersection "claimed numerous lives in recent years."
Action in 1983 included the installation of rumble strips and a red flashing sign on 
the north side of M-68.
