CAPTION: The year was 1966, Mr. and Mrs. James Martin of Onaway, formerly of Detroit, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary late in June. They marked the occasion with a renewal of their wedding vows and with an open house at their farm near Onaway. Martin, a former employee of the Commonwealth Brass Corp. modernized and refurbished the farm since his retirement in 1963. At the open house, all five of the couple's daughters were present as well as eight of their 14 grandchildren and three of their eight great-grandchildren. In other Onaway News, Gary Imel was in Boston, Massachusetts where his ship was in dry dock after a world cruise during which they touched six of the seven continents of the world, crossing the international dateline and the Equator. He is a 1964 graduate of Onaway High School.
