1978 - Candidates for Miss Onaway Are Announced...and...Robert Schell Gives Progress Report on Courthouse Restoration From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook April 12, 2018

  
CAPTION: Miss Onaway pageant candidates for 1978 were Sherry Davis, Janet Pariseau, 
Wendy Shaw, Donna Perrino, Mae Beth Moran, Kay Krage and Liz Rushton.  Mistress of 
ceremonies was to be Carol Peterman, 1976 Miss Onaway and second runner-up in the Miss 
Michigan contest of 1977.  Karan Pregitzer and the Onaway High School dance band were to
add their sounds to the evening.  In other Onaway News, Robert Schell, chairman of
the courthouse restoration subcommittee gave a progress report to city commissioners.
He said it should not be allowed to continue in its present state of deterioration.  
Efforts were underway to raise funds at the local level to maintain the building and
prevent further decay.  He said the roof should be patched and broken windows replaced.  
He emphasized that it was not the beginning of restoration, only the prevention of further
deterioration.
