CAPTION: Mary Schwartz, Miss Onaway 1977-78, was elected a finalist and runner-up in the 1978 National Cherry Queen Pageant in Traverse City, July 1. She returns to Onaway another gem in the city's crown of queens. Mary preformed a happy and excitng roaring 1920s dance routine and was judged on the basis of evening gown competition and interviews. Schwartz was presented a wardrobe that she modeled during festival week in Traverse City as a member of the Cherry Queen's court. The former Miss Onaway was a guest at the Interlochen National Music Camp and at the Civil Air Patrol Aviation Day. In other Onaway news, Dr. Donald Finch Jr., Onaway's dentist, moved his family to Owosso...and Onaway Community Federal Credit Union received the 1978 thrift honor award.
