1978 - Myla Horrocks is Fourth-Runner Up in the 1978 Miss Michigan Pageant From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook June 21, 2018

  
CAPTION: Myla Horrocks was named to the fourth runner-up in the 1978 Miss Michigan pageant conducted
in Muskegon's Walker Arena, June 17, 1978.  Above, she takes part in the swimsuit competition (left)
and the talent portion (right).  For the second time in its two-year history, Onaway's pageant entrant 
was a finalist.  Scoring was close in all categories and very few points separated the finalists.  Horrocks
ranked high in all categories in one of the most closely-matched pageant competitions in many years.  
Forty-two people from Onaway went to the Muskegon pageant and formed the largest supporting 
contingent.  Myla said, "It mean so much to have all those people here.  The Onaway contingent was
really great.  The other girls wanted me to go out just so they could hear the applause and support."
