1978 - Onaway Football Coaches Chuck Abshagen and John Krage Are Getting Ready for 1978 Season From Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook September 13, 2018

season.  "We looked good against all three teams," said Abshagen of a four-team
pre-season at Cheboygan.  "The boys have been working very hard and it shows. There's
still room for improvement but we're working now on the deficiencies we saw in the
scrimmage."  The tentative starting lineup on offense for the season-opener against
Rogers City was: Tom Ball, center; Mark Malay, right guard; Mark Pomranke, right tackle;
Shawn Fulton, right end; Neil Morgan, left tackle; Dan Dempsey, left tackle; Craig Moser, 
left end; Tom Auger, quarterback; Keith Kovell, right halfback; Pat Crowe, left halfback; 
and Rick Waldie, fullback.
