In other Onaway News, Virgil Freel of Millersburg was named farmer of the week by Michigan Farm Radio Network and the Farm Bureau Insurance Group. Freel had been farming for 10 years at the time. He farmed 500 acres, growing dark red kidney beans and certified seed oats.
