CAPTION: Onaway High School principal Donald Holmes announced that of the 90 students expected to receive diplomas, 30 were honor students, the highest percentage ever. Julie Chowen was valedictorian of the Class of 1978 and Julie MacGregor was salutatorian. In other Onaway news a delegation of officers of the Onaway Federal Credit Union were at the Onaway City Commission meeting to make a proposal. Michael O'Meara, speaking for the credit union building committee, proposed purchasing the Onaway Courthouse building and removing it to construct a new building. O'Meara pointed out that the organization wanted to construct a new builidng in Onaway as close as possible to the downtown area. It was determined that the costs of renovating the building would probably exceed $100,000 and that federal and state aid for such a project were not available. A public hearing was scheduled for St. Paul Community Hall.
