CAPTION: As Onaway entered another new year and awaited the arrival of the year's first baby at Russell Memorial Hospital, some may have wondered who held the record for the other end of the time spectrum. Longtime Onaway area resident Ormie McClary had seen 100 New Year's Eves. He was born May 16, 1878 and moved from Afton to Onaway in 1926. McClary worked at the American Wood Rim Company in Onaway for only a few months when the business was destroyed by fire. In other Onaway news, Cub Scouts from Den 6 did one of their good deeds as a group shortly before Christmas. Scouts Paul Counterman, Bryan Brenner, Chris Breem, Brian Watson, Joseph Heron and Stuart Wright visited the Parkside Adult Care Center and presented each of the residents with a Christmas present made by the Scouts.
