CAPTION: At a special meeting of the Onaway City Commission, the new mayor and members of the commission took their oaths of offices, Nov. 14, 1977. City clerk Roberta Leslie administered the oath of office to new mayor Robert Nelson, and then to commissioners Harry W. Moran Jr., Alan Greenwood, Ted Wall and William Robinson. Wall, a former administrator of Russell Memorial Hospital and a previous mayor, was elected as a write-in. In other Onaway news involving Harry W. Moran Jr., he got his buck early but legal. It was Nov. 14 at 6 a.m. using a Brockway. That was a big V-12 diesel truck. There was no injury to the driver or damage to the truck.
