CAPTION: Here are some ads from 50 years ago. In other Onaway News, a total of 594 farms were counted in Presque Isle County during the 1964 Census of Agriculture. It was 648 in 1959. The 1964 total was published in a preliminary report. The report showed that the average farm size in the county was 219.1 acres and the average value of the county farms in 1964 was $21,682. And in other news, someone stole the editor Nolan Isom's camera from his vehicle. The front-page article was much kinder 50 years ago. It asked the person who borrowed the Polaroid camera to put it back and no questions asked.
