CAPTION: A new steering wheel shaped symbol, designed by Sharon Comfort of Atlanta, was chosen by a panel of nine judges in the Onaway Chamber of Commerce's logo contest (above). The new logo was going to be used on city stationary, plaques, signs and brochures...In other Onaway news: during the June meeting of the Russell Memorial Hospital auxiliary the nominating committee presented the slate of new officers for the new year that started July 1, 1979. The installation was conducted June 26, 1979 during a luncheon at the Black Lake Hotel. Assuming the positions in the auxiliary were Harriet Lyon, president; Rosina Kohare, vice president; Mary Lyon, secretary; and Harriet Anderson, treasurer and hospital board delegate. Clara Appleton was the membership chairwoman. It was also announced by the scholarship committee that Liz Penhale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Penhale, was chosen to receive a scholarship to attend Butterworth School of Nursing in Grand Rapids.
