CAPTION: Late winter is the time the top students at Onaway High School were announced. There were three in 1966, including William Badero, valedictorian; Kay McArthur, salutatorian; and Patricia McFall. Badgero maintained a 3.84 grade point average (GPA) during his three-and-a-half years at Onaway High School. He was active in all sports: football, basketball, and track and field, earning letters in each. He also was a member of band for four years. Bill was secretary of the student council as well. McArthur had a GPA of 3.57. She was active in pep club and the science club and the Youth for Understanding organization. She was a member of Glee Club for three years. McFall had a 3.4 GPA. She took part in chorus and served on the student council. Other seniors maintaining a "B" average or better were Sandra McGinn, Gloria Martin, Linda Haskill and Dale Philpott. In other Onaway News, U.S. Flag kits were available for purchase at the Onaway News office. "Designated to retail at $5 each of the kits are being offered by the News at $3.25," a front-page article stated.
