CAPTION: The pounding of hammers and buzzing of saws could be heard coming from another one of main street structures that had not been used for a period of time. On State Street at the end of M-211, the builidng being worked on housed Snuffy's Restaurant until 1972. It was then converted to apartments that were occupied until 1974 when the building was vacated and left dormant. However, during the summer of 1978, the sights and sounds of life were coming from its interior. It was to become a human services building for residents of the Onaway area. In other Onaway news, one of Onaway's native sons, Kevin O'Meara, was helping his hometown to grow. He opened O'Meara's Auto Sales on M-33 just south of the blinker light, that had been offices of the Bendix Geophysical Corporation. Cars and trucks were a part of his life since he was in 10th grade.
